On the prowl for New Mexico cat cafes? 2019 brought the opportunity for a new beginning to homeless cats in Albuquerque thanks to the opening of the city’s first cat cafe, Catopia!
The 411 for Foodies
While providing a taste of the good life to adoptable cats during their stay at the cafe, Catopia also offers a menu of tasty vegan treats and other assorted snacks for customers to nom on.
The Cats of Catopia
For an entry fee, fans of felines can spend up to an hour among a clowder of cuddly kitties inside cat quarters separate from the designated dining area.
All are adorable adoptables from either the Albuquerque Animal Welfare Department or Desert Paws Animal Rescue of New Mexico, a foster-based, volunteer rescue organization which offers a new lease on life to homeless cats and dogs from the Cochiti Pueblo.
Fun with Felines
Our pals who meow aren’t the only ones who get the chance to play at Catopia!
Along with board games available on a daily basis, the cat cafe will also hold a bevy of special events, with adoptables helping feline aficionados perfect their Dogward Dog pose during a Yoga with Cats session and acting as ‘mew’ses for aspiring Picassos during Painting with Cats session.
