Looking for an Alabama cat cafe? The first in Alabama was Gatos and Beans, located in Birmingham. Thanks to a cat-loving couple who are driven to help our feline friends in need, a building in Birmingham where tires were once sold has transformed into a cat cafe that helps to put homeless kitties on the road to a better tomorrow!
Here’s the scoop on Gatos and Beans:
What’s on the Menu?
While drinking in the beauty of the cafe’s exterior and interior mewrals, customers can sip on a Maine Coon Mocha, a hot chocolate Calico or an A-meow-icano.
Co-owners Stephen and Kelli Steward not only serve refreshments to admirers of those who meow, they also offer a taste of the good life to cats who are looking for forever families to love:

The Cats of Gatos and Beans
For a fee, fans of felines of all ages can spend 60 minutes in the presence of purring perfection. (Note: A beverage is included in the price of admittance.)
The cats enjoying all the amenities that the cafe’s separate kitty quarters offers are adoptables from Kitty Kat Haven & Rescue, an all volunteer no-kill, no-cage nonprofit in Hoover, Alabama which has been saving the lives of cats in need since opening its doors in 2016.
