Joining the ever-growing clowder of establishments in Canada that offer their customers a unique blend of coffee and cuddles with adoptable kitties, Feline Cafe— the first cat cafe in Ottawa– opened its doors in 2017 to those who adore our pals who purr.
Food at Feline Cafe
At Feline Cafe foodies with a hunger for ethical edibles can enjoy a variety of tasty vegan treats as they unwind on upcycled furnishings, then pay a visit to the facility’s special cat quarters to feast their eyes on a sight to satisfy the soul– adorable adoptables from Ottawa Stray Cat Rescue.
Adoptable Cats
A non-profit close to the heart of proprietor Josée Cyr, as she is a proud pet parent to cats adopted from the organization, Ottawa Stray Cat Rescue is a volunteer-operated, foster-based rescue founded in 2011. The registered charity helps to ease the problem of community cat overpopulation through TNR (trap/neuter/return), and cares for approximately 50 – 100 adoptable cats on any given time as they wait for the day when they are united with a forever human family to call their own.
Alun, one of the adoptables who greeted guests on opening day, has already found his permanent pet parents thanks to his time at Feline Cat Cafe!
Along with the opportunity to meet some new four-legged friends, customers can also enjoy some feline-themed fun by taking part in future events held at the venue, like curling up with a kitty for movie night, or perfecting the downward dog pose with a little help from a purring partner during a session of cat yoga.
Location
Feline Cafe is located at 1076 Wellington Street West in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
NOTE: Children must be over the age of 12 to enter the cat area.
