Houston, we have lift off on Space City’s first cat cafe, and fans of felines are over the moon!
Following in the paw prints of The Blue Cat Cafe in Austin, El Gato Coffeehouse Cat Cafe was the second cat cafe in Texas. From its merrily decorated sugar skull-style logo to its palate of vibrant yellow, blue and green accents, El Gato embraces a south of the border ambiance which customers can savor as they nom on assorted nibbles washed down with sips of tea or cups of joe from Argus Coffee Co.
El Gato Promotes the Option of Pet Adoption
Cat lovers can pay for an hour-long stay in the Cat Cottage, where 12 adorable adoptables lap up attention.
All of the cats waiting for their forever pet parent to walk through the cafe’s door are from the Houston Humane Society.
El Gato Activities
El Gato’s calendar is filled with a virtual clowder of fun, cat-themed activities. Patrons can let their inner ‘kit’ come out to play while watching Caturday morning cartoons, film fans can curl up and enjoy a favorite feline flick during Meowvie Nights, creative cat lovers can work on purrfecting their popcorn stitch while crocheting alongside a kitty during Craft Along with Cats, and those who want to work on their Downward Dog can do so with a purring partner during Yoga with Cats or Cat Nap Yoga sessions.
