Sterling Silver Cat Necklaces at Uncommon Goods

I love cat jewelry that’s cute but not too, well, you know, CUTE. I like kind of a more stylized cat like the ones in these Mark Poulin necklaces at Uncommon Goods.

Without knowing the designer, I already had a Mark Poulin dog necklace, one that John gave me not long after we adopted Irie. The cartoon dog with floppy ears reminded him of our Irie,  and I’ve worn the necklace for nearly six years now, including at the very first BlogPaws where I was speaking about monetizing your blog:

…and this past fall when I went to have some professional photos taken with Tiki:

…but, even so, I didn’t know there was also a companion CAT necklace!

Recently I was contacted by Uncommon Goods, a company with a huge array of unique gifts for Valentine’s Day as well as these gifts under $100, about doing a review of some of their products for pet lovers. I looked through the list and, lo and behold, there was my necklace!

Both the cat and dog necklaces were designed by artist Mark Poulin and handmade in Oakland, California. (Half of the products that Uncommon Goods carries are handmade, many of them in the USA!) Both sterling silver necklaces are sold with a nylon-coated stainless steel cord with sterling silver clasp.

I also love that about one-third of their entire collection incorporates recycled and/or upcycled materials and about half of all the products they carry are handmade, many, like these necklaces, in the USA. We also love that with every purchase you make, Uncommon Goods will donate $1 to the non-profit of your choice. Since they started the Better to Give program 12 years ago, they’ve donated over $700,000 to charities around the world!

Disclosure: We received two necklaces for our review.
