Cat lovers and parade enthusiasts, mark your calendars! This Thanksgiving, the streets of Manhattan will witness a historic and adorable addition to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Cool Cats Group, a prominent Web3 company, in collaboration with Macy’s, is introducing its core mascot, Blue Cat, and his delightful companion, Chugs the milk carton, as the first-ever NFT collection characters to grace the iconic parade.

The Cool Cats brand won an online contest hosted by Macy’s and was selected to be a part of the much-loved Parade.

Cool Cats, with its flagship character “Blue Cat,” is a global brand, winning hearts from Reese Witherspoon to Bill Murray. Cool Cats is built around its beloved lead character “Blue Cat”, created by artist Colin Egan in 2013.

For Egan (AKA “Clon,”) the creator and founder of Cool Cats, this moment is not just a professional milestone but a deeply personal one, recalling watching the Parade with his grandfather, a cherished tradition.

In tandem with their Parade debut, Cool Cats is unveiling exclusive merchandise, including Blue Cat plushies and a vinyl collectible, available at Macy’s flagship stores and online. There’s even a special hoodie for NYC fans at Macy’s Herald Square, complete with digital activation features, merging the physical and digital worlds of fandom.

“As two of the most popular Web3 characters, we could not be more thrilled to build upon last year’s success and introduce Blue Cat and Chugs in the physical world at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade this fall,” said Jordan Dabby, producer of Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. “We know that our fans will be delighted to see these iconic characters soar above the streets of Manhattan this Thanksgiving.”

The 97th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is airing nationwide on NBC from 9 a.m.- noon in all time zones (and streaming on Peacock), offering a purr-fect blend of tradition and innovation.

Get ready to witness Blue Cat and Chugs make their majestic flight above the Big Apple!
