A tiny tabby kitten who was in need of a forever pet parent is now living 24/7 in the home of 24: Live Another Day star Emily Berrington!
Chinny’s Adoption Story
The fall season is traditionally a time of dormancy in the garden, but for a four-month-old kitten dubbed Chinny autumn 2016 turned out to be a time for her new life to blossom. Discovered hiding out inside a garden shed in North London, an act of compassion by her rescuers brought both the kitten and her mother to Harmsworth Animal Hospital, where Chinny received rehabilitation for a mobility issue before her transfer to the RSCPA branch in Friern Barnet.
According to the branch’s Rehoming and Fostering Coordinator: “Poor Chinny was really struggling to walk when she was first brought to us– they think is was some kind of neurological condition linked to her back legs. They couldn’t cure it completely but this certainly does not seem to slow her down. She runs around like a little livewire–and her limping back legs just give her a unique ‘bunny-hop-run’.”
In late January 2017 Chinny bunny-hopped her way into the heart of her new favorite human, Emily Berrington who also starred in the AMC TV series Humans. Speaking out about the need to heed the plight of homeless animals, the star stated: “I think it is so important to adopt, not shop. There are always so many rescue cats and kittens waiting for homes and I knew I wanted to be part of that.”
Located in a Pets at Home store, the RSPCA Friern Barnet Adoption Centre is just one of 17 regional RSPCA animal centers in England and Wales and 42 animal centers run by RSPCA branches. Founded in 1824, the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals helps to unite an estimated 130 companion animals with forever families each day.
