Last week, thinking of a way to honor Coco’s life with us, I found myself on Petfinder. Through the years, so many of our pets have found their way to us after a Petfinder search: Lucky, Inca, Irie and Tiki. We felt like we already “knew” Gummy Bear before we reached the shelter. Thanks to her Petfinder photos and description, we felt like we were already acquainted with this little four-month-old girl.
The moment we walked in the door, we spotted our little black and white girl. There was no missing that distinctive little face that we’d already come to know and love! Petfinder made it so easy to connect us with shelters and homeless pets–all from the comfort of our living room–so the step of meeting her in person was like running into an old friend.
We spent the afternoon getting to know Gummy Bear then making the decision to adopt her that day. She helped heal our broken hearts, and we happily joined the ranks, once again, of pet parents and furry family members who #MetOnPetfinder.
