Known as The Borough of Homes, since 2016 our purring pals in Brooklyn have found it easier to find forever homes thanks to the Brooklyn Cat Cafe, the city’s first permanent cat cafe and the only non-profit cat cafe in New York City.
An idea which had been percolating in the minds of the folks at the Brooklyn Bridge Animal Welfare Coalition since the fall of 2015, when the non-profit volunteer group served up the three-month pop-up cat cafe The Cat’s Meow in Fort Greene.
Adoptable Cats
For a fee, fans of felines can enjoy a half-hour visit with the The Brooklyn Bridge Animal Welfare Coalition’s adorable adoptable kittens and cats who will be lapping up the milk of human kindness at the cat cafe.
Cat Cafe Food and Drink and Special Events
Along with nomming on vegetarian, vegan and other assorted nibbles, customers will also have the chance to take part in scheduled special events.
Patron can work on perfecting their Downward Dog pose during a Cats & Mats session, enjoy a golden opportunity to watch silver screen classics during Movie Nights, and attend low-cast vaccination clinics and cat behavior and health workshops.
While the cat cafe was the first of its kind in Brooklyn, New York City welcomed several feline-themed cafes, including Koneko, Little Lions and Meow Parlour.
Location
The Brooklyn Cat Cafe is located at 149 Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn, New York.
