A Street Cat Named Bob Trailer Released #StreetCatBob

Street Cat Bob

Fans of felines first fell in love with the true tale of a down on his luck street musician and the stray cat whose dogged devotion leads him to a better life when A Street Cat Named Bob: And How He Saved My Life was published in 2012. Soon admirers of the international bestseller will get a golden opportunity to see the heartwarming story on the silver screen.

The inspirational film focuses on the life of James Bowen, a busker who has overcome both heroin addiction and homelessness. When an orange tabby with an infected leg showed up at Bowen’s apartment one night and received help from his new human friend, the cat decided to reward the man’s act of kindness with his constant companionship, and since 2007 the pair of pals have been inseparable.

Today Bob and his human buddy are known throughout the world, and using his celebrity status to help others has been a top priority for the tiny tabby ever since he first claimed fame. Over the years Bob and Bowen have helped to raise awareness of, and funds for, a multitude of organizations which help both homeless people and pets. (Among the many animal charities the pair have championed are Cats Protection and The Blue Cross.) Continuing to provide sustenance for the souls of cat lovers, a Bob’s World Cat Cafe in London– which will help homeless kitties who dream of starring in the lives of forever pet parents– is also in the works.

Starring Luke Treadaway (Unbroken, Clash of the Titans), Joanne Froggatt (Downton Abbey), Ruta Gedmintas (FX series The Strain), Anthony Head (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) and Bob himself in the title role, A Street Cat Named Bob will be unleashed in theaters on November 4, 2016 in the UK. The date for the US premiere has yet to be announced.
