Kitties who dream of starring in the life of a forever pet parent recently had the chance to lap up the limelight as the stars of the soon to be released comedy Keanu paid a visit to America’s first cat cafe in order to shine a spotlight on the option of pet adoption.
Cat Town Cafe in Oakland, California temporarily transformed into Keanu’s Krib when Keegan Michael Key and Jordan Peele of the comedy duo Key and Peele met with feline-loving fans. The visit was the last stop in a promotional tour which included visits to meet sweet adoptables at such venues as Tree House Humane Society in Chicago and Le Cat Cafe in Philadelphia, which welcomed Jordan Peele and Keanu co-star method Man.
Opening in theaters nationwide on April 29th, Keanu features the acting debut of seven talented tabby kittens, who all play the film’s title role. Each of the pint-sized purrformers are rescue kittens (with one tiny tabby saved from life on the streets by The Animal League in Cleremont, Florida) and every one has since been cast in the role of fur baby in a loving family. Several of the kittens were welcomed into the heart and home of the movie’s crew, with the Hollywood Reporter relaying the happy news that one lucky kitty was adopted by actress Tiffany Haddish, who plays the character Hi-C in the funny flick.
