Grumpy Cat Visits Berkeley Humane Society

GrumpyShe may have gained fame for her cantankerous comportment, but Grumpy Cat’s perpetual pout recently hid her grin as she joined more than 400 fans at the Berkeley Humane Society.

The winner in the GrumpyTown USA contest (which promoted the internet sensation’s tongue-in-cheek how-to tome A Grumpy Guide to Life: Observations by Grumpy Cat), the animal adoption center welcomed the famously fretful feline to the ribbon-cutting ceremony for its new 26-foot-long mobile adoption center van, which will not only help to put adoptables on the road to finding pet parents to love, but also serve as temporary quarters for kitties as the Berkeley Humane Society’s building undergoes reconstruction due to the effects for a 2010 blaze.

Established in 1927, the Berkeley-East Bay Humane Society placed a record 1,030 cats and dogs in forever homes in 2014.
