Celebrity Cat Helps The Joshua Louis Animal Cancer Foundation

VitoA feline who stepped into the iconic role of Cat in a Broadway production of Breakfast at Tiffany’s will help to cheer on strollers at The Joshua Louis Animal Cancer Foundation’s second annual Walk, Run and Wag 5K and Ice Cream Social as they take steps toward a better tomorrow for our purring pals and barking buddies who are battling a disease which has claimed too many of our four-legged friends.

Taking place May 3rd at Liberty State Park in Jersey City, New Jersey, certified pet therapist Vito Vincent– a charismatic former shelter cat who has also starred as Christiane Aman-purr in a comedy skit on The Colbert Report and made a kitty cameo on 30 Rock— will join Christine Nagy (an actress and co-host of The Bronson and Christine Show whose cat Mickey passed away from Lymphoma at the tender age of six) as special guests at the event.

Participants (and any pups who care to take part) can enjoy views of the Statue of Liberty, New York Harbor and New York City during their stroll, then enjoy a tasty treat during the day of play for a higher purpose which raised close to $40,000 for the paws cause last year.

According to Dr. Joshua Lachowicz, a board certified Veterinary Oncologist and founder of The Joshua Louis Animal Cancer Foundation, “Over 20 per cent of animals over five, and nearly 50 per cent over 10 years old will be diagnosed with cancer.” The event will help to raise vital funds for the ongoing efforts of the all-volunteer non-profit to provide financial assistance to pet parents who are unable to afford treatment for their cancer-stricken companion animals, and raise awareness of advances in Veterinary Oncology.
