When Rachael Ray recently paid her first visit to The Howard Stern Show the celebrity chef did more than chew the fat with the renowned radio personality– she also helped Howard and his wife Beth Stern’s efforts to give cats in need a taste of the good life.
Rachael Ray has donated $500,000 to Bianca’s Furry Friends, an upcoming state-of-the-art feline adoption center named in honor of the Stern’s late, great English Bulldog. A proposed 14,000-square-foot extension to North Shore Animal League America’s headquarters in Port Washington, New York, the facility will feature a kitten adoption area, a round the clock kitten nursery, a feline behavior department, grooming facilities, examination rooms and a surgical suite and recovery room.
While the Nutrish line of cat food debuted in 2014, Rachael Ray Nutrish– in partnership with Ainsworth Pet Nutrition– developed a line of super premium food and treats for dogs in 2008, and since then has donated $7 million in proceeds from the sale of Rachael Ray food and treats in a variety of organizations which help animals in need.
