As our readers over on DogTipper know, we’ve been very busy working through our Event Barkers partnership to plan for the upcoming #BarkFriday #FueltheLove Twitter party on November 29 (Black Friday!) and to coordinate the #FueltheLove Blog Hop, both events with hundreds of dollars in dog treat prizes and more.

But the kitties aren’t forgotten in all this; cats are an important part of The Dog and Cat Cancer Fund, an important part of Zuke’s. This non-profit helps pet parents who cannot afford cancer treatment for their dogs and cats. Zuke’s has donated over $175,000 to date to its Dog and Cat Cancer Fund (DCCFund), supporting the non-profit with a portion of every sale.

“Zuke’s donates a portion of all product sales to the Dog and Cat Cancer Fund,” states Chris Meiering, Zuke’s Director of Marketing and co-founder of the DCCFund. “We invest in this organization because we passionately believe that the ability to pay one’s vet bills shouldn’t be a factor in giving pets a fighting chance against this terrible disease.” In fact, Zuke himself, the namesake of the country, was a victim of canine cancer.

The primary mission of the DCCFund is to work with pet parents who are in need of financial assistance. The Fund pays their veterinarian for cancer related care, making treatment possible for cats and dogs suffering from cancer!
