Stepping up to the plate to help our purring pals by stepping in front of the camera, baseball star Nyjer Morgan and his kitty companion Slick Willie are helping to promote the option of adoption in a new PSA.
Sports fans have cheered whenever the Milwaukee Brewers outfielder heads for home base during a game, and animal lovers applauded the athlete in the summer of 2011 when he gave a forever home to a furry friend who he adopted from the Wisconsin Humane Society.
Morgan’s bond with Slick Willie prompted the MLB player to take part in PETA’s “Adopt, Don’t Buy” campaign, which shines a spotlight on the millions of cats and canines who are currently in the shelter system.
