The silver anniversary of Macy’s Holiday Windows in the City By the Bay will be a golden opportunity for pet parents to find a purring pal as the San Francisco SPCA once again partners with the upscale department store to find forever homes for Fidos and felines.
Last year approximately 300 adorable adoptables met their new pet parents through the campaign, which raised more than $70,000 in donations for the SF SPCA.
Through January 1, 2012, people are invited to press their noses against the glass as they watch puppies and kittens at play in the temperature-controlled window display pet areas, which are also equipped with video cameras to capture all the canine and cat cuteness in streaming images for internet viewers. Sponsored by KSFO Radio, each day dog devotees and fans of felines can take a peek at a new array of pups and purrers at www.sfspca.org/holiday . The adoption drive begins November 18, 2011 at 5 p.m. PT, when the Macy’s Believe holiday windows will be unveiled by elementary students from the De Marillac Academy.
Volunteers are still needed for short shifts—around 2 to 2.5 hours—to greet the public, collect donations and direct people to the SF SPCA adoption center inside Macy’s. Shifts are available throughout the day and evening, generally 9:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. No commitment or special training is necessary.
