Feb. 14, 2014 has to rank as my all-time best Valentine’s Day…it is the day we went to Austin Pets Alive and adopted Lucky!
Lucky had been with APA for just a short while after having been transferred from the shelter in the nearby town of Bastrop. Four-month-old Lucky arrived at our house and immediately started to make himself at home.
Lucky has always been the first to greet new pets in our home, whether feline or canine; he really is everyone’s buddy.
Through the years, Lucky has been through so much, with bladder stones and surgery just a year after we adopted him, plus the loss of Linus, Coco, Ochi and Irie. He remains semi-incontinent today, with “pee trays” throughout the house in case he can’t make it to the litterboxes, and plastic sheeting atop the bed. While we may not be able to have guests in our home, we’ve definitely made it work. Lucky’s happy and likes nothing better than to curl up with his best buddy, Jetty.
Tonight we’ll be celebrating Lucky’s 5th Gotcha Day with a new wand toy (his favorite!) We love you, Lucky!
