I’ve had many fun Valentine’s Days through the years–but none will ever top Valentine’s Day 2014–the day we adopted Lucky from Austin Pets Alive!
Lucky was just five months old when we adopted him but he was already on his second shelter stay. He originally came from the Bastrop shelter, a small town southeast of Austin. Austin Pets Alive took Lucky from that overcrowded shelter, and we saw his photo on Petfinder right after his move. We were at the Austin shelter before the doors opened the next morning to meet the little guy and to see if he seemed like he’d be a good fit for our family:
We filled out the paperwork and Lucky never returned to the kennel that was for “Tuxie,” his shelter name:
Instead, he went home with us that day!
We soon found out that he was a GREAT fit for our family. Before long, he was best buddies with everyone in the house, from the dogs…
…to the cats…
You may be named Lucky, but we are definitely the lucky ones here! Happy gotcha day, sweet Lucky!
