I am so honored to announce that our pet360 article, “Zeki the Pet Safety Cat: From Rescued to Rescuer” has won a Cat Writers’ Association Certificate of Excellence! This article told the story of Zeki, a very special cat who, after suffering horrible abuse, was rescued and became a pet safety instructor alongside her pet parent, author and radio host Arden Moore.

Zeki just recently passed away, but she will always be an inspiration. Even after suffering so terribly at the hands of an abuser, Zeki could not have been more friendly and outgoing. I had the honor to take Arden and Zeki’s pet safety class after last year’s CWA conference in Dallas, and I caught up with Zeki again at BlogPaws this May. She will never be forgotten.
