We had the BEST Valentine’s Day ever! We adopted a kitty!
We headed to Austin Pets Alive!, an amazing non-profit that’s really helped Austin achieve its no-kill status.
Late Thursday evening we’d seen a little four-month-old kitten on their site and we HAD to go see him. We were at the shelter before they opened this morning!
We absolutely love tuxedo cats but we were keeping our minds open about which cat would be the best fit for our family, waiting until we met the cats to make a decision. However, when we saw this photo on the APA website, we knew we just had to go see this little fellow:
As you can see, he reminded us a lot of our sweet Felix. It has been incredibly hard since we lost Felix but we knew there was no better way to honor his memory than to adopt another cat.
This little fellow had only been at Austin Pets Alive! for a few days; he’d come to the shelter from the city shelter in nearby Bastrop. He’s done a lot of traveling in his short life!
We just fell in love with him immediately! 
He arrived at the shelter with a slight cold so he’s not yet been neutered; we’ll be taking in for neutering as soon as his cold symptoms are done. In the meantime, he’s home with us in his own little room with a low window, two cat beds, lots of toys, and an endless parade of eager brothers and sisters waiting outside his door! We can’t wait to figure out his name and to integrate this little fellow into our family!!
