Wordless Wednesday: Our Hospital Patient

This has been a really tough week on everyone here but no one more so than Felix. On Monday morning, we found him squatting and trying unsuccessfully to urinate. We rushed him to the vet’s office where he was found to have a urinary tract blockage, although fortunately one that we’d caught very early. (The vet thought he’d blocked up on Sunday night because his blood tests came back very good.) Felix has been on a catheter and IV this week.

On Tuesday, I went up and spent about an hour with him, finally getting him to eat a little. As you know, Felix was once a feral cat so he doesn’t like being around strangers and has really been stressed out at the veterinary hospital. Our vet thinks he will be able to come home on Wednesday afternoon, and we all hope, hope he’ll be able to! The other cats and our dogs have all been very subdued in Felix’s absence and miss their buddy!
