The window displays at Macy’s Union Square are once again offering adorable adoptable kittens and canines a window into a whole new world as members of forever families as the San Francisco SPCA joins with the the shopper’s paradise for the 27th Holiday Windows event.
On November 22nd the curtain rose on the annual adoption showcase with help from stars of Steve Silver’s Beach Blanket Babylon, America’s longest running musical revue.
Last year close to 300 companion animals found loving pet parents thanks to exposure both in department store windows and online, and approximately $80,000 was contributed to the paws cause during the holiday period.
Animal lovers in the San Francisco area are invited to get into the spirit of the season by becoming a volunteer for the event. Shifts last for two hours and consist of greeting the public and taking donations for the SFSPCA outside of Macy’s windows.
Even if the City By The Bay is far away, animal lovers everywhere can take part in the happening with heart by watching the pets at play on their computer screen thanks to five video streams. (Giving as many cats and dogs a chance to wow the crowds outside of Macy’s as possible, the roster of cuddly cats and canines changes on a daily basis.)
The 27th annual Holiday Windows display will continue through January 5, 2014 at Macy’s Union Square in San Francisco, California.
