Review: Swheat Scoop Cat Litter

With four cats in our home, we’re always looking for different litterbox solutions, especially ones that are  eco-friendly. Our cats are indoors-only kitties and we have multiple litterboxes and go through quite a bit of litter every month. We’re very conscientious about our choices.

As you might guess from the name, Swheat Scoop® Natural Clumping Litter is a litter made from wheat. It’s that wheat that makes this such a unique litter because the properties of the wheat. Swheat Scoop uses the natural wheat enzymes (nothing chemical here) to destroy litter box odors on contact.

Those properties of the wheat also make it an excellent clumping litter. As cooks well know, wheat is starchy. That same property helps the litter clump naturally and create firm, solid clumps that are not only easy for you to scoop but also prevent your cat from tracking loose litter throughout the house.

Made without clay or chemicals, Swheat Scoop is a natural choice that’s biodegradable when you’re done. And, because it doesn’t contain clay, it is recommended by veterinarians as safe for kittens.

Swheat Scoop comes in three varieties: Original, Multi-Cat, and Lightly Scented.

Litter for LittersSM Program

We also love Swheat Scoop’s new Litter for LittersSM program! The brand will donate one-pound (up to 10,000 pounds per program partner) of litter in honor of each new Swheat Scoop Facebook fan they receive. Every three months, they’ll be partnering with a different animal organization, starting with Minneapolis’ Pet Project Rescue (PPR).
