Warner Park is known as the home of an annual Concerts on the Green series but, during the first weekend in June, the joyful sounds of barks and purrs will be music to the ears of animal lovers at the serene green landscape in Woodland Hills as homeless cats and dogs find their new forever families during the Best Friends NKLA Super Adoption.
Presented by BOBS from Skechers, the event will include more than 1,000 cats, kittens, dogs and puppies from NKLA (No Kill Los Angeles) Coalition partners. Adoption fees will start as low as $10, although the adoption process and cost to welcome a furry family member into your heart and home may vary according to the regulations of the participating organizations.
Along with a number of rescues and shelters that will showcase canines who are looking for that special someone to love, there will also be many rescue organizations and animal shelters that will showcase felines in need of forever homes, including:
- Best Friends Animal Society Los Angeles
- Catscatscatsrescue
- County of Los Angeles Department of Animal Care and Control
- Designer Dog Rescue
- Homeless to Forever Foundation
- Karma Rescue
- Kitt Crusaders INC
- Kitten Rescue
- Kitty Bungalow Charm School for Wayward Cats
- LA Animal Services
- Labs and Friends.Org
- Michelson Found Animals Foundation
- Spay and Neuter Project of Los Angeles (SNPLA)
- Stray Cat Alliance
- The Cat Cove
- The Peter Zippi Memorial Fund
- Urban Sanctuary
- Zoey’s Place Rescue
Every companion animal appearing at the adoption event has been spayed or neutered, vaccinated and microchipped, cats and dogs who find their forever family at the event will bring to their new home complimentary coupons, pet food, a collar and other pet products, while supplies last.
Along with the chance to feast your eyes on the heartwarming sight of canines and kitties finding their special someone, animal-loving attendees can also chow down on tasty treats from some of L.A.’s most popular food trucks. The event also offers the opportunity to shop for your fur baby among an array of booths brimming with pet-related products.
Last year’s spring Best Friends NKLA Super Adoption helped to unite 679 companion animals with loving pet parents, and all of the shelter trucks that carried the dogs and cats to the event went back to their respective shelters empty thanks to the combined efforts of Best Friends Los Angeles and NKLA Coalition partner rescue organizations, which took in animals who did not find forever homes at the weekend-long event.
