A nose tackle for the Denver Broncos, Phil Taylor recently teamed up with some four-pawed players with tiny wet noses to film a series of PSAs for the Denver Animal Shelter, prompting the public to get in the game and choose the option of pet adoption and understand the responsibilities that come with being a pet parent.

Along with helping out the Denver Animal Shelter (an open-admission shelter which provides comfort and care to more than 7,500 homeless animals every year), earlier this summer the doting dog Dad to three canines took time to make some new purring pals at Denver Dumb Friends League‘s Quebec Street shelter in Denver for Adopt-A-Shelter-Cat Month. Offering a new lease on life to homeless animals since its start in 1910, today the non-profit is the Rocky Mountain region’s largest community-based animal welfare organization.

Phil Taylor is one of the many football heroes who have scored a touchdown in the hearts of animals lovers in recent days for helping a paws cause. K.J. Wright of the Seattle Seahawks is helping to tackle the heartbreaking topic of dog fighting in a PSA which co-stars Meadow, a Pit Bull who was once used as a bait dog.

An athlete with empathy for both people and pets in need, in 2011 Phil Taylor established the non-profit Taylormade 98 Foundation, which strives to instill in the next generation a pride for, and commitment to, their community as well as lend a helping hand to those with two and four legs who find themselves in need.
