Cindy Adams, an iconic entertainment newshound whose Page Six column always makes tongues wag, has let the cat out of the bag! This holiday season she will once again act as host of a happening with heart that pays homage to the love that all of our friends with fur, fins and feathers bring to our lives.
Here’s the scoop:
On December 13th fans of felines, dog devotees, and admirers of all creatures great and small are invited to bring their pal with paws or claws to the seventh annual Blessing of the Animals. Taking place at Christ Church in New York City, Adams and her two tail-wagging chums (Yorkshire Terriers Jazzy and Juicy) will be among the many merry attendees who will mingle in the crowd at Christ Church as they wait for the start of the nondenominational service.
Gossip columnist Cindy Adams and her fur babies Jazzy and Juicy at a previous Blessing of the Animals:
Holiday carols performed by the Roosevelt High School choir will ring out during an hour-long service which will include blessings of our furry friends by house of worship’s Senior Minister Stephen Bauman and Central Synagogue’s Rabbi Emeritus Peter J. Rubenstein.
Along with people’s barking buddies and purring pals, the service will also be attended by farm animals, NYPD police dogs, horses and their handlers, and companion animals who are looking for forever pet parents to love.
The event is free to the public, who can help to make the season bright for a homeless pet by bringing a donation of a toy that will be given to a shelter dog or cat at NYC Animal Care & Control.
Note: No RSVP required. Seating on a first come, first serviced basis.
