Fans of felines are invited to raise their glasses in a toast to a better future for kitties in need as they raise funds for a paws cause at a first ever Kittens and Cocktails event held at America’s first permanent cat cafe.
On June 19th a virtual clowder of cat devotees will gather at The Cat Town Cafe in Oakland, California to sip spirits, mix with fellow pals to those who purr and participate in fun feline-themed activities to help turn the dream of both an expansion for the cafe’s adoption center and the establishment of a medical emergency fund from reverie into reality.
The Oakland facility, which opened its doors to the public in 2014, is operated by Cat Town– an all-volunteer non-profit which has saved the lives of more than 600 at risk shelter cats since its start in 2011. Thanks to the organization’s tireless efforts, the number of cats who have faced their fate in Oakland’s animal shelter has been lowered by more than 50 percent.
In addition to the purrty with a higher purpose, Cat Town Cafe is also marking Adopt-A-Shelter-Cat Month all month long, with all felines who find forever families to love during their stay at the Cat Town Cafe in June receiving going away gifts to take with them to their new home, including toys, catnip and scratchers from Petlinks, SmartyKat and Kathy Ireland Loved Ones brands, courtesy of the San Rafael-based pet product manufacturer, Worldwide.
When: June 19, 2015
