Lil BUB’s Birthday Helps Cats in Need

BUBBirthdays may traditionally be a time to receive presents,  but a tiny Tabby with special magical powers is celebrating her BUB-birthday month by giving the gift of a better tomorrow to cats with special needs.

Lil BUB, the intergalactic kitty/celebrity cat who touched down on Earth on June 21, 2011, is marking her third year on the planet by asking fans to help her reach her goal of raising $50,000 for Lil BUB’s Big Fund for the ASPCA by the end of this month. Donations to the fund are distributed as grants to animal welfare organizations to help cats who require specialized care and felines who find it difficult to be adopted, including cats who are challenged by birth defects, blindness, illness, injuries or the effects of old age.

Since the fund was launched in early 2014, $25,000 has already been allotted to various animal welfare programs, with one grant recently helping a stray mother cat dubbed Mama Jetson. Trying to care for her two kittens while suffering from a diaphragmatic hernia, Mama Jetson underwent a successful surgery and her three-week-old babies received nourishing formula at a foster home before being reunited with their mother, all thanks to Lil BUB’s Big Fund for the ASPCA and the compassionate staff at The Humane Society of Western Montana.

Fans can show their love for Lil BUB with a donation to Lil BUB’s Big Fund for the ASPCA or through a purchase at the Lil BUB Store, which is doubling contributions throughout the month of June. Also, don’t forget to wish BUB a happy third BUB-birthday on Twitter, using the hashtag #lilbubsbigthird!
