One Picture Saves a Life Tour in New Orleans June 28th

CasteelSeth Casteel made a big splash in the world of dog devotees through his images of swimming Spots in his New York Times bestseller Underwater Dogs, and on June 28th the famed photographer will help efforts to place homeless cats and dogs in the family portraits of loving pet parents during a One Picture Saves a Life tour stop in New Orleans.

As 73 per cent of all pet adoptions now begin with a look online, capturing the charisma of a shelter cat or canine with a camera is essential to helping potential pet parents picture an adorable adoptable in their life, and during the workshop Casteel will offer tips for taking a great shot of a shelter pet.

Celebrity dog stylist Jorge Bendersky from the Animal Planet series Groomer Has It will also show how good grooming techniques can tame the fur of a feline or Fido, making them ‘picture perfect.’

Part of a multi-city tour, One Picture Saves a Life’s New Orleans stop is hosted by the Louisiana SPCA. A free event open to both the public as well as shelter staff and volunteers (who can also attend a special workshop which will take place after the public presentation), registration for the workshop is currently open.

When: June 28, 2014 (public session from 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.; shelter staff and volunteer workshop from 12:30 p.m. – 4 p.m.)

Where: Martin Behrman Charter School at 715 Opelousas Avenue in New Orleans, Louisiana
