She may have a reputation as a sour puss, but beneath her curmudgeonly ‘cat’itude Grumpy Cat is really a sweetheart, and the bad-tempered kitty’s good will was evident when she made a visit to the Lone Star state to bring a taste of the good life to cats in Austin who need forever homes.
In celebration of Friskies Seafood Sensations’ new shrimp flavor, on March 7th Grumpy Cat became a “Worst Mate” when she boarded the SS. Holy Shrimp Boat, setting sail on a tour of the city that finally docked at the Mashable House for a social meet-and-greet with her closest fans.
Grumpy Cat’s Austin adventure also included a Friskies donation of 25,000 Friskies Seafood Sensations with new shrimp flavor to kitties currently residing at Austin Animal Center. Fans of felines who hunger to help cats in need can raise the donation up to a maximum of 50,000 meals, as Friskies will donate an additional meal to the shelter between March 7 – 9 each time a cat photo is tweeted using the hashtag #HolyShrimp!
Passengers join Grumpy Cat, the “Worst Mate,” of the Friskies’ S.S. Holy Shrimp Boat as it embarks on its maiden voyage during the Austin-based festival on Friday, March 7, 2014. The ship, designed by Friskies to promote the NEW shrimp flavor in Seafood Sensations cat food, delivered Grumpy Cat in style to the Mashable House for a sea-faring themed photo booth appearance.
