UPDATE: Little Lions Cat Cafe is permanently closed. Find more New York cat cafes in our directory!
Roaring onto the SoHo scene, on February 17th Little Lions cat cafe and teahouse opened its doors to those who adore felines, serving up snacks and smiles while helping a paws cause.
Customers can curb their craving for tasty treats by browsing over a menu sprinkled with an assortment of scones, croissants, cookies and breads, which can be washed down with a cup of coffee or tea.
To satisfy the need to squee, cat lovers can feast their eyes on adorable adoptables in the cat sanctuary/lounge. For an $11 fee, fans of felines who have made reservations can enjoy 60 minutes surrounded by approximately 10 – 15 cute kitties who have been pulled from area shelters by Best Friends Animal Society New York after an introduction to the cats’ special kitty quarters by Little Lions’ Cat Comfort Coordinator.
Little Lions has followed in the paw prints of New York City cat cafes Koneko, which has welcomed feline-loving foodies since late 2015, and the Big Apple’s first cat cafe, Meow Parlour.
Note: Reservations for a visit to the cat sanctuary area are encouraged. Children of all ages can dine in the tea room, and animal-loving little ones over the age of six can meet some new purring pals in the sanctuary if accompanied by a guardian.
