Kitten Summer Games Cat Athletes Revealed

As the Olympic trials get underway and athletes from around the globe attempt to tackle the final hurdle on their road to Rio, doggedly devoted CAT-letes are also one step closer to achieving their dream of clawing their way to the top podium in the Kitten Summer Games.

Adoptable competipurrs from all 50 states are showing off their special skills in track and field, gymnastics, tennis and other sports at the Kitten Summer Games trials, and correspondents Mary Carrillo and David Frei will give viewers the play by play in a series of Road to the Kitten Summer Games videos. The Hallmark Channel will also be giving fans the scoop on all of the talented tabbies and tuxedo cats in a ‘Meet the Kittens’ page on the channel’s website.

Hosted by author and North Shore Animal League America spokesperson Beth Stern, the Kitten Summer Games will also include appearances by such animal-loving athletes as Olympians Brandi Chastain and Lindsey Jacobellis, NFL star Rob Gronkowski, and more.

The Kitten Summer Games is the latest Hallmark Channel presentation to promote the option of pet adoption. Committed to the paws cause, the network has previously selected adoptables for Kitten Bowl I and II, and will partner with North Shore Animal League America to host nationwide adoption drives prior to the premiere of the Kitten Summer Games. The feline-themed sports event is part of Hallmark Channel’s Pet Project, an evergreen initiative dedicated to the celebration of the joy that adopting a shelter animal brings to our lives.
