Meow Parlour, New York City

Cat-loving New Yorkers who are anxiously awaiting the arrival of the new year recently celebrated the start of a new era for helping cats in need when the nation’s fourth cat cafe opened its doors in December 2014.

Pals of those who purr have been making reservations for scheduled stays which range from 30 minutes to five hours for the chance to mingle with fellow fans of felines and meet the cats who are currently lapping up attention at Meow Parlour, where customers can enjoy tasty baked treats from the patisserie amid an array of adorable adoptables from Kitty Kind, a no-kill, all-volunteer rescue group which saves the lives of more than 600 cats each year.

During their first days in their new temporary digs Meow Parlour’s first adoptable cats met a famous friend to both dogs and cats, celebrity chef Rachael Ray, who is helping all of the cats at Kitty Kind enjoy a taste of the good life by making a donation of more than 174,000 cups of Nutrish wet cat food! (All of the proceeds from Rachael Ray’s Nutrish cat and dog food benefit no-kill rescue organizations.)
