Fans of felines are grinning like the proverbial Cheshire Cat at the news that they can soon enjoy a kitty-themed coffee klatsch and help our purring pals in the process as L.A.’s first pop-up cat cafe opens its doors for a limited time.

From October 2 – 5, cat-loving customers can drink in the at”meow”sphere at Catfe, which will include pet lifestyle retailer Pussy & Pooch‘s mini pop-up shop complete with a selection of cat treats, toys, gifts and accessories by Hauspanther and Pioneer Pet; kitty ditties purr-formed by Lolita Dark; and adorable, adoptable kittens and cats from Best Friends Animal Society.

During the cats’ stay in the Catfe, they will enjoy roaming and lounging in a space designed by founder Carlos Wong. “We are really excited for the community to come out and enjoy the experience,” said Wong. “We know there are a lot of cat loving Angelenos and this will be a great first-look at our future community offering and forever home to relax, play and adopt adorable kitties looking for their forever home.”

Admission: Free (VIP packages are available for $30 per person, which guarantees date/time and priority line privileges, or $125 per person paid reservation in advance, which guarantees date/time, priority line privileges and seating in a private room with the cats. All proceeds benefit Catfe’s Kickstarter campaign for a permanent cat cafe.)

When: October 2 – 5, 2014 from 4 p.m. – 9 p.m.

Where: Far East Plaza at 727 North Broadway in Los Angeles, California
