Monopoly Cat ‘Adopted’ by Battersea Dogs and Cats Home

Having won the votes of the board game-playing public earlier this year, the tiny paws of the Monopoly cat now has the chance to promenade past the popular Hasbro game’s high end real estate.  In celebration, the new token recently took a tour of some of the London sites that line the Monopoly board’s UK edition before making itself at home among adorable adoptables who are hoping to win the hearts of forever parents.

Like countless tourists, the Monopoly Cat couldn’t resist taking a snapshot in front of Eros in Piccadilly Circus:

Monopoly Cat celebrates the 60th anniversary of the Queen’s coronation on the streets of London:

After posing with many of the city’s symbols, including the statue of Eros in Piccadilly Circus and the Millennium Bridge, the 6-foot tall fiberglass feline headed to Battersea Dogs and Cats Home.

The new Monopoly Cat meets a few fellow felines at Battersea Dogs and Cats Home’s Cattery, which was officially opened by royal patron Camilla, The Duchess of Cornwall in October 2010:

The roaming Monopoly moggy made fast friends with some of the charity’s resident kitties and canines before settling in outside the reception area, where it will greet potential pet parents upon their arrival at the renowned rescue, which has provided comfort and care to pets in need since 1860.

Battersea Power Station makes a dramatic backdrop as the Monopoly Cat makes a new barking buddy on the grounds of Battersea Dogs and Cats Home:

Lindsay Quinlan, the Head of Battersea’s Cattery, stated: “We think this latest Battersea cat is just too big to fit into a regular home, so we’ve decided she’ll be our very special ‘yard cat’ here at Battersea. We do have 116 smaller cats and kittens being cared for at our London centre who are waiting for new homes, so please come and say hi to Monopoly cat – and meet all our other animals too.”
