[Ended] Morris the Cat Runs for President to Help PAWS San Francisco

The presidential election is just a few weeks away, and while there’s been a lot of talk about whether ‘donkeys’ or ‘elephants’ should lead the nation, thanks to a famous feline’s decision to become a political animal there’s now a cat candidate running for the position of Commander-in-Chief.

Morris the Cat, the face of 9Lives® brand cat food and a former shelter cat, has tossed his hat (or should that be collar?) into the ring, with the potential purring POTUS pronouncing Stubbs the Cat, the Mayor of Talkeenta, Alaska, as his running mate.

“It’s time to let the cat out of the bag – I’m running for President,” said Morris the Cat. “As we head out on the campaign trail, my hope is that Mayor Stubbs and I put our best paw forward in representing all cats everywhere.”

Campaigning for a paws cause, Morris’s platform shines a spotlight on issues that matter to his meowing buddies, including forever homes for all cats and feeding felines in need.

To show your support for Morris, download a free election poster on Facebook, insert your own cat’s face and share with your Facebook friends and Twitter followers. For each share of the campaign poster on Facebook, the Morris campaign will contribute one bowl of 9Lives cat food (up to 3,000 lbs. of cat food in all) to Pets Are Wonderful Support, San Francisco (PAWS San Francisco), which preserves and nurtures the human-animal bond for those most vulnerable in the community by offering a pet food and supply bank, dog walking and cat care, foster care for companion animals whose pet parents need long-term hospitalization, and re-homing when a client passes away.

The 9Lives Morris campaign will run through November 6, 2012.
