Today was Felix’s follow-up visit at the vet’s office. As you remember, he had a very scary urinary tract blockage and spent several days at the vet hospital earlier this summer. On his first followup, he was also put on medication for hyperthyroidism. At his last followup, this urine sample still showed too many crystals and the dosage of hyperthyroidism medication wasn’t high enough.
So this week we obtained another urine sample (this time, Felix complied with just under 20 hours in the bathroom…a five-hour improvement over the last time!)
And the news was good today!! Felix had no sign of infection, the crystals were greatly reduced, and his thyroid tests came back great! He’ll stay on twice-daily medication for the hyperthroidism and on prescription food for the urinary problems but hopefully he won’t need to go back for another six months!
